Overview

The Atamai Epilepsy Viewer is a software package developed with the needs of the clinician in mind. Based on our robust and proven Atamai Viewer, the Epilepsy Viewer package is an extensible system of software modules developed to enhance the interpretation of epilepsy patient images. The Epilepsy Viewer integrates multimodal image registration and fusion, electrode annotation, automatic brain segmentation (MRI), volume rendering and surgical visualization within a 3D environment.

Program Operation: Once a directory containing two intra-patient image datasets (e.g. an unregistered MRI and CT) is specified, the software will do the rest:

1. The images are registered automatically,

2. Subdural electrodes (if present) are extracted from the CT and rendered in 3D,

3. The registered images and the 3D electrodes are simultaneously presented in a single viewing window.

4. Available modules are presented to the user.

The registration transform and the file containing the segmented electrodes are saved in the patient's directory so these computations are peformed only once.
