1. Our fully automatic rigid-body linear registration
algorithms have been successfully tested using:

• CT to CT
• MRI to MRI
• CT and MRI

Registration of two 40MB volumes
(human brain images) requires approximately 13 seconds (dual 1.2
GHz Athlons, 1GB ram). Our automatic linear registration algorithms
incorporate normalized cross-correlation and mutual information
similarity metrics.
2. Our fully automatic nonlinear
registration ("warping") algorithm has been successfully
tested using:
• T1 MRI to T1 MRI human brain images
• T2 MRI to T2 MRI human brain images
Registration of two 40MB volumes
(human brain images) requires approximately 6 minutes (dual 1.2
GHz Athlons, 1GB ram). The nonlinear algorithm is based upon maximization
of the normalized cross correlation. Ref: IEEE Trans Med Imaging,
22(1):93-104, 2003.
All of our registration algorithms are multi-threaded
making them ideal for use on multiple CPU computers
Abbreviations: MRI - Magnetic
resonance image, CT - Computed tomography image, PET - Positron
